Coleção dos Artistas do MACRio
O MAC trabalha para que os artistas sejam protagonistas na produção de arte, mas também na escritura da história da arte e sobretudo na criação do legado cultural fruto do seu trabalho.
O modelo organizacional do MAC Rio foi pensado como uma plataforma horizontal de criação, divulgação e preservação de conhecimento e cultura a serviço das obras de arte, dos artistas e do público.
É uma Coleção pensada por Salvatore que será central nas políticas do Mac Rio de Janeiro e tem as seguintes características:
Um grupo de artistas contemporâneos são convidados para doar uma obra significativa da própria produção para ‘Coleção dos Artistasdo MACRio’.
Através desta doação os artistas passam a fazer parte do comite de gestao da coleção como membros fundadores.
Cada membro convidado terá por sua vez a possibilidade de convidar um artista a fazer parte do comite doando uma sua obra a coleção.
Este processo de indicação corresponde a fase preliminar da criação da coleção e da comunidade.
Uma vez formada a coleção inicial, o comitê dos membros fundadores participará ativamente de todas as decisões sobre a gestão do acervo, todas tomadas a partir de propostas votadas pelos artistas membros e aprovadas por maioria de votos.
O comitê dos artistas membros fundadores votará anualmente a abertura de convites para novos artistas.
MACRio Artists’ Collection
The MAC Rio works in order to grant to the artists their role of leaders in the production of art, but also in the writing of art history and creating a cultural legacy that is fruit of their work.
The organizational model of the MAC Rio was designed as a horizontal platform for the creation, dissemination and preservation of knowledge and culture, that serves the works of art, artists and the public.
It is a collection designed by Salvatore with the following characteristics:
Initially a group of contemporary artists are invited to donate a significant work of own production to the museum Artists' Collection and consequently to be members of the committee that manages the collection.
Through this donation artists become part of the collection as founding members.
Each founding member will be able to invite an artist to be part of the collection.
This process caracterizes the preliminary phase of the creation of the collection and the committee.
Once formed the initial collection, the committee of the founding members will actively participate in all decisions about its management. Every proposal will be voted and approved by founding members by majority.
The founding member will vote every year about opening invitations to new artists the collection community.
